KONCEPCE FESTIVALU

This project was developer in collaboration with the Prague Quadrennial of Performance Design and Space, which takes place this year in June.

The open call for the Czech pavillon was won by SWEET SWEET SWEET Nebeský festival, a project dedicated to the Czech director Jan Nebeský.

“The collaboration with Jan Nebeský has always been a source of great inspiration to me.” - explains Jana Preková, the project’s curator. We’re offering a happening, an action in constant change. It’s a moment lasting eleven days and fusion is its essence. The curatorial concept of SWEET SWEET SWEET is based on the interweavance of four dramaturgical lines: the theatre play SWEET SWEET SWEET, Artists 9+, Fresh Trash and Simposium.

It`s not easy to debate Jan Nebeský’s personality. We could probably relate to the theory of deterministic chaos. This theory describes seemingly chaotic systems, which in reality behave according to precisely defined parameters and are highly organised. This way their name stays in discord with the usual sense the word chaos is used.

The production SWEET SWEET SWEET is a fusion of Jan Nebeský’s most recent theatre productions combined with performances prepared by his close collaborators. We might find ourselves in close vicinity of a magnet which attracts and repels at the same time.

Artists 9+ are long-term collaborators of Jan Nebeský: visual artists (Vladimír Kokolia, Ivanka Kanhäuserová, Jana Preková, Michal Pěchouček, Tomáš Ruller, Igor Korpaczewski, Petra Vlachynská, Jan Štěpánek), musicians (Milan Svoboda, Vojta a Irena Havlovi, Martin Dohnal, Pavel Fajt, Radim Hladík, Aleš Březina, Emil Viklický, Jan Šikl, Joe Karafiát a další), actors (David Prachař, Karel Dobrý, Lucie Trmíková, Miloš Mejzlík, Kateřina Winterová, Saša Rašilov, Petra Špalková, Igor Chmela, Miloslav König, Petra Lustigová, Jiří Černý) and the dance formation 420PEOPLE. The artists will create a space, where every passer-by can become a spectator.

The vernissage of the Czech exhibition will take place on the 19th of June at 9 p.m. at the New Scene of the National Theatre in Prague. The artistic director of the National Theatre Michal Dočekal, the representatives of the Prague Quadrennial 2015 and the SWEET SWEET SWEET team are looking forward to seeing you there.
